HONEY CORN @ VIRGIN HOTEL NEW YORK CITY LAUNCH PARTY

HONEY CORN X VIRGIN HOTEL NEW YORK CITY LAUNCH PARTY X NYFW

Oh what a night! It was epic! I can’t believe it’s been a week already since the launch party of Virgin Hotel New York City (NYC), I felt honoured to be in attendance with the cool kids of New York City.

The night I talk about is the Virgin Hotel New York City launch party on Friday February 10th 2023. It was definitely a reference from what I imagine to be Studio 54. Full of modern day thinkers, designers, artists, activist and models on the generation Z stage. All there to champion the opening of Virgin Hotel, New York Fashion Week, and the United Nations Partners Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) number 5 which is to…

Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls…

I was thrilled to be invited for cocktails by the fabulously fierce Jérôme LeMaar Founder of 5:31 fashion label and designer to the stars Beyoncé aka Queen Bee and Kimora Lee Simmons of Baby Phat. He is also the host of his very own on-trend TV show UpCycle Nation. In short, he is super talented. To quote Jérôme – “I follow my dreams, not people” something I can totally relate to as an entrepreneur.

The Virgin Hotel New York City (NYC) launch party was to celebrate Jérôme LeMaar’s IRK magazine cover and was in association with a number of brand sponsors, the United Nations (UN Partners), Fashion Impact Fund, IRK Magazine, Global Fashion Exchange, Conscious Fashion & Lifestyle Network, Diageo, Utopia By Pedercho. The Sustainable Development Goals was at the heart of this event.

I was delighted to meet with the stunning model and influencer Sonia Barbie Tucker who has worked on campaigns for the likes of Marc Jacobs to name but a few and Miss Chiamaka.

It was my first time in the ‘Big Apple’ the ‘Big Smoke’ that is New York City. I was wide eyed and bushy tailed on arrival. The place was totally awesome and exciting and I eased into the craziness of Manhattan. To say it’s a big city is an understatement.

Now, back in the UK after a whirlwind visit - in the words of Sinatra, Alicia Keys & Jay Z’s Empire State of Mind. Start spreading the news, I’m leaving today I want to be a part of it New York, New York….If I can make it here, I can make it anywhere… I got a pocket full of dreams…in this concrete jungle where dreams are made of…. keeps ringing in my ears as my plane departs the runway. Thank you New York for the experience I will be back! Watch this space for Honey Corn’s gender-neutral skincare brand collaborating with New York stockists in 2023!
